The Sonification Handbook

The Sonification Handbook (edited by Thomas Hermann, Andy Hunt, John G. Neuhoff) is now (12/2011++) available both in print and online. The book provides a reference and textbook for Auditory display, sonification, Sonic Interaction Design, Sound Computing and related topics. The open access book is available at sonification.de/handbook.

Tweetscapes

Tweetscapes started on 2011-10-01 within the regular broadcasted radio programme of Deutschlandradio kultur. Tweetscapes is a real-time sonification of the German twitter traffic, designed so that trending topics can be distinguished and activity be understood. More info at www.tweetscapes.de. Tweetscape is a project by Anselm Venezian Nehls (HEAVYLISTENING), Thomas Hermann (CITEC, Bielefeld University), realized in cooperation with Deutschlandradio kultur.
